Description
Walk with us through the history of the so called Regina Viarum or “Queen of the roads” and immerge yourself in a combination of nature, history and spirituality.
Go out the city centre through the old Aurelian Walls to explore the most ancient and picturesque road of Rome, the Ancient Appian way, that goes trough the green of the roman countryside to reach, after miles and miles, the south of Italy.
Escape the hassle and bustle of the city and enjoy a pleasurable stroll surrounded by important remains of the ancient city: the massive villa where emperor Maxentius enjoyed his leisure time (featuring the Mausoleum of his family and a private horse racing track!), the monumental tomb of the noble woman Cecilia Metella, later transformed into a medieval fortress, and the underground catacombs where the first Christians of Rome where buried thousand of years ago.
You can choose your favorite way to explore the Appian way: walking tour, golf cart or bike.
Please get in touch with us for further details on the different options.
